    EBUZZ: Cobblestone Press
Another soon to be available epublisher is Cobblestone Press. And when I say new, I mean new, they open their virtual doors in five days!
We are an electronic publisher of sensual and erotic romance seeking creative storytelling and original style. Because we at Cobblestone Press are selective about what we accept, we are looking for authors to set the standard of writing for this new press; authors that show extraordinary ability to weave tales of romance through strong, unforgettable characters, plots that twist and turn with layers of conflict and emotion, and a style that sets them apart from other writers in the market.

Their books will only be available in ebook. Right now there are no plans to have any print books. But at the heart of it, Cobblestone looks to be a Romance Publisher, first and foremost. They have hawt lines, they have paranormal but they are looking to give readers their HEA.

I haven't read any of their books yet, so I can't say if they meet that mark, but looks like they at least have the aim in mind.

    Coming Soon!
Coming Soon to a Computer Near You

    Their books fit into: Trysts:10,000-20,000 - Novella:20,001-40,000 - Novel:40,001-65,000 - Full Novel: 65,001-100,000. With a rating guide of:
    * Wild: Fully realized sexual relationships with no explicit language (mainstream romance)
    * Wanton: Fully realized sexual relationships with explicit language
    * Wicked: Fully realized sexual relationships with explicit language and themes that some readers might find disturbing or objectionable (violence, multiple partners, & BDSM).

And their genres are: Action Adventure, African American, Contemporary, Chick Lit**, Fantasy, Futuristic / Science Fiction, Gay & Lesbian (Yaoi/Shonen), Historical, Interracial/Multicultural, Paranormal (Werewolf, Vampire, Ghosts, Magic, etc), Time Travel, and Thriller/Suspense.

What do you think of the covers? I see a few really good ones but for the most part I am eh on them.

    Who is Cobblestone?
    About Us Page

    The who's who of cobblestone

    Wanna Write with Cobblestone?
As I mentioned before they are:
accepting manuscripts from 10-100k in the following genres: Action Adventure, African American, Contemporary, Chick Lit**, Fantasy, Futuristic / Science Fiction, Gay & Lesbian (Yaoi/Shonen), Historical, Interracial/Multicultural, Paranormal (Werewolf, Vampire, Ghosts, Magic, etc), Time Travel, and Thriller/Suspense.

    Their no-no's are:
purple prose, closed door sexual relationships between the main characters, pedophilia, incest, bodily functions, snuff, bestiality (aliens and shape shifters okay), and necrophilia. If you aren't sure, just ask!
hee I am surprised there isn't (vampires okay) after necrophilia *g*.

Please excuse cindys and me while we dance around in joy due to the no closed door rule.

In addition to the above they have three lines they are looking to fill:
    Brazen Submissions
    Word Count: 20k-40k

The Brazen line is a special line of books dedicated to the feisty and aggressive heroine we have in all of us. She’s not just any ordinary bad girl! She is a strong, determined, kick ass woman who is in control of her life. She is larger than life and so is her take on the world. The man in her life is just as strong and worldly as she is, and he knows he's privileged to be there.

    Outlaw! Submissions
    Word Count: 20k-40k

The Outlaw! hero is a walk on the wild side and the heroine likes him that way. He’s a bold alpha male with the world as his playground. Whether he's a demon, a vampire, pirate, knight, or a corporate devil. He’s the anti-hero that steals your heart.

    Shifter Submissions
    Word Count: 10k-100k

The Shifter series at Cobblestone is dedicated to shape shifters of both genders. Get in touch with your wild side and let us take a look! We are interested in shape shifter romance that crosses over into all genres.

All in all they sound like a great addition to romanceland, ebook style. There is a n interview with Deanna Lee over at Fallen Angels. Anyone had a chance to read any cobble books yet?
    10 Comments:
    1. I'm obviously not unbiased, but here's my .02. Or maybe .05.

Call me shallow, but Cobblestone's covers were one reason I decided to submit to them. Since I started reading e-books a year ago, I've seen way too many bad ones. I don't love all of the covers, but I love quite a few, and like many more.

I'm thrilled with the two covers I've received.

Their website is another reason I submitted. I think it looks very professional and it's easy to navigate.

I've read two of their books (the ones I wrote, LOL!), but I've put a bunch of the stories on my TBB list.

They had a chat last week, and someone mentioned that they would like to see more futuristic submissions. So if you write futuristics, consider submitting to them. (Must finish my futuristic . . .)

I've been very pleased with the way I've been treated by Cobblestone Press.

    3. I'm also a writer for Cobblestone and can attest to the professionalism.

They've got top-notch editors and beautiful cover art.

They are wonderful with helping the authors with getting advanced reviews, and all of the reviews for all of the premier books are beyond awesome!

They are great about promotion and very helpful in every way when their authors have any questions.

This is one publisher I highly recommend!

    4. Yup. I'm another Cobblestone Author. I'd say the reviews speak for themselves of our books, and any of Cobblestone's authors will tell you how amazing it is to work with this publisher. Check them out on Friday. Friday, baby!

    5. Yet another Cobblestone author lol. :)

I love working with Cobblestone. The owners, editors, artists, and authors are top notch. We're growing into a big happy family. :)

I highly recommend them to fellow writers, and several of my friends are already there of course!

Grand Opening is in less than a week and we're all psyched! The reviews have been fantastic and word is spreading. Hope we see you there!

    6. Angie, I think hawt is a step above hot. I could be wrong--there's bound to be a first time, right? ;)

    7. oh angie of the smartass

You know I have a horrid time finding well done reviews for ebooks. And haven't seen for cobblestone where I normally stalk.

What sites would some of you guys rec?

And lia... that SO doesn't count as reading a cobblestone book or two. LOL

By Blogger sybil, at 5/28/2006 07:37:00 PM

    8. Heh, heh, Sybil. What do you mean, reading my two books doesn't count? LOL!

Well, I'll probably write up some recommendations once I have a chance to read some CP stories. They'll be at my writer blog, not my reader one, cuz I feel a bit weird about assigning grades with authors I'm in groups with.

Some CP stuff has been reviewed at Joyfully Reviewed and Romance Divas, among others. As an interesting side note, Cobblestone Press sends its books to All About Romance, so some people *cough cough* could have access to them.

JR's reviews are filed by publisher, and they offer both positive and negative feedback, although they don't rate the books (on a 1-5 or any scale). As a reader, I appreciate their honesty.

Someone at Romance Divas has just been assigned to read my first book. Eeek! After reviewing for so long, it's interesting to be on the other side of the fence.

    9. Fallen Angel Reviews have reviews a few of the books, as well as Road to Romance. Coffee time will have at least one up, I think a couple more than that, the first week of June.
