Lover Awakened by J R Ward *September 2006*
Zsadist is the Lover Awakened Zsadist: the most lethal of the brothers. A former blood slave who was mercilessly tortured during the first hundred years of his life, Z is the one who has fallen farthest from grace. But he is utterly worthy of redemption. This post is moved from March when JR Ward joined us for Lover Eternal's debut. She will be back for Lover Awakened in Sept. But to answer the most recent question... looks like the next excerpt will be from Butch's book [listen to cindys sqqquuee]. Don't expect any more Z ones, at least that is what a lil birdie told me. J. R. Ward recently received the cover and wanted to share. click if you want to see not only the cover but also a summary This will be ICE BLUE when finished. Or at least that is the plan as of now. In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Of these, Zsadist is the most terrifying member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion-until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society. Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist's thirst for vengeance against Bella's tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her.... (c) Copyright J.R. Ward 2005-2006 |
Squeeee! I can't wait! No really. I can't. I mean it. Oh well. This is another great cover. One quibble--isn't Bella described w/black hair? Perhaps when the cover's in color it won't look blonde. Thanks for sharing.

Cover proofs can always be corrected~ that looks like the perfect cover to me, and darkening hair is easy. Would have been a shame to pass on it just cuz of hair, easily fixed.
and nope, i'm not gonna say anything about how awesome Z's story is. Nope. not a word.

Devon- I talked to my editor about this and they need to change her hair color- this is the prototype. Good catch!
I like the covers a lot, I gotta say. The art department at Signet/NAL is awesome.
Celena- I really like what they did here- it's in keeping with the other two. And it makes me think of Z!
(Ah, hell, what doesn't. I'm a shameless Z fangirl.)

I was telling Sybil way early this morning that I thought you had pulled the winning lottery when it came to book covers. I hope that the publisher and art department keep the same theme.

Cindy- I totally agree with you and as far as I know now the look of the covers is going to stay exactly the same!
I did win the lottery. With my editor, too. She rocks...

Z's cover is amazing. Love the ice blue. I just love the whole feel of the cover. And yep, I noticed Bella's hair color too. :)

I too, have to say I love the cover! I ditto Bellas hair but i aslo wondered about Z's hair. Doesnt he have a buzz cut? J R is going to kill us all for mentioning something as small as hair but we are some serious fans. Loved Lover Eternal JR!!!

Ohh I can't wait for this book. I believe Z is my favorite character. I do so love those bad boys. I loved dark Lover. Have had it a while but read it saturday and it was fantastic. I actually won the 2nd book in your RJ Chat and I'm looking forward to reading that one as soon as I get it. I loved Rhage but thought he needed taken down a peg. He was entirely too spoiled by women or so he seemed. lol

Pam! I'm still waiting on my author copies- don't give up on me! And I'm thrilled you like DL...
And Suzette, absolutely Z has a skull trim- they did what they could though and I love the end result. And I'm glad you care enough to notice!

I can't wait for Z's book, either. I've been intrigued by him since the beginning and I'm so looking forward to finding out all of the details of his life.
Is it Sept. YET? *sigh*
As for the covers, I totally agree, JRW hit the jackpot! They're great!
