    Heartbreaker by Diana Palmer
    Le sigh...

    Why?

    Do I keep reading her?

    1. Because you like her?

      Just guessing....

    2. I just finished this book. I could think of another hundred or so words that would make better titles other than Heartbreaker.....or maybe that was a good name because maybe it is the reader's heart that she breaks.

      Ohhhhhh, Why?, Why?

I so agree with you. I really like Diana Palmer! Why, indeed. I will still buy her next book. I really like her. I can't help myself.

    3. Sybil,

I quit reading her last year ~ But every time she comes out with a new book I almost want to buy it. But I'm tired of the younger heroine/much older hero/"little one"/le petite morte books that she writes. After awhile it seems I'm re-reading the same thing over and over (and over) again.

The woman can certainly create chemistry, to be sure but I'm just wanting something new.

    4. I quit reading her, too. Always the same story, just change of name. When she first started I had her on my auto buy list, but now I don't even peek. I

    5. Uh oh! It was that bad??

My copy came in the mail today. This is the first DP book I've read in years and I hope it doesn't disappoint.

    6. You are not alone. I buy every single one and whine as soon as I'm done. Already bought this one. It's like a disease or something.

    7. Wait - I used to love her too but the last two books of hers I read were PC. I don't read Palmer for PC heroes and heroines, I read her for the drama but I felt like her publishers told her to knock it off and now her books have no teeth!

I was reaching for this one the other day at the store but my fear of a watered down Palmer stilled my hand.

So was it bad because it's not a Palmer or was it bad because it's like the old Palmer (which is good for me ;))

      Get all that?

CindyS (reeling from Keishon's admission that she reads Palmer;))

    8. Hey, while cleaning out my parents' house for a move I packed up a couple of boxes of books. Some were for me to keep, some to try and sell or otherwise get rid of. There are a ton of old Diana Palmers with cheesy painted covers. They've gotta be pre-PC. I'll make up a list of titles and post it at my blog. If anyone wants any, I'll send you some. I have no interest in her, and half.com doesn't recognize the ISBNs.

    10. I just mentioned that I've never really read a Lindsey (tried on recently - but - not my cuppa). DP is yet another author I've never read before.

    11. Its like going back to my girlhood. sort of a comfort read. Same old story but you know it's going to be a good one. Don't read all the time but she clears the palate between other type books.
