Ebook Questions Part I.
| Since I am in a much better mind frame right now, I need to focus on the four reviews I want to finish today. But I shall leave you with a question, or two: 1. Have you ever read an ebook? 2. Would you consider yourself an ebook reader? (meaning more than one or two books read, you have favorite authors, they are on your tbr pile and or tbb list) 3. What publishers have you tried out? (links are greatly welcomed but if not I can find) 4. If you answered yes to 2, who are some of your: favorite publishers and/or favorite authors? (again, links are greatly welcomed and feel free to pimp your own work or publisher). 5. How do you find new ebooks to read? Do you find yourself following the same authors? Or do you tend to stick to the same site and just keep an eye on the coming soon page? **** more ebook posts to follow and I shall try to keep the questions under 5 per post ;). 1 & 2 are pretty much yes or no questions but for the others, do feel free to list as many as you like. **** |

1) I've read about 3 or 4
2) Not really. I've read a few Sarah McCarty but that's about it.
3) Elloras Cave - I think that's it
4) Only the one author
5) I can't see this being a trend with me. I don't have an e-reader and since I'm on the computer all day, I don't want my leisure time to be taken up on the computer - except that doesn't wash does it since I spend so much time on blogging. But that's different. Plus I like the comfort of holding a book in my hands and carrying it around from room to room.

1. I tried to read an e-book (MJD who I really like) and got bored because it was on the computer and my chair isn't nearly as comfy as it should be and it felt like work.

OK, you seriously need a pop-up comments window, I had to copy and paste to remember these questions.
1. Yes, currently have about 100+ downloaded
2. Yes, I would, my fave E-book authors are Sarah McCarty, Shelby Reed, Katherine Allred. I love Lora Leigh books too, but hers aren't for everyone.
(3. Elloras Cave of course, Fictionwise.com, liquidsilver books, Triskelion (rarely)Loose-ID(not so much)
4. EC and cerridwenpress.com are my faves, also they make it easy to buy books. Fictionwise have a wider variety of books, so I dig them too. I usually stay away from the likes of Venus Press.
5. I tend to stick to the same sites, and the same authors unless a particular blurb cathces my eye.

Yeah I can see that and I switched it to try the pop up thingie. See, you are special ;).
McCarty's westerns are my fave. Have her others downloaded but tbr and I pretty much like LL. Totally agree is isn't for everyone. I really like NB but didn't really like how it tied back into the whole August Men series. But thinking about it - the theme is sooo close that maybe she had too.
hmmm will need to keep an eye out for Shelby Reed and Katherine Allred.
Do you have trouble with the Triskelion site? Or is it just me? I find the thing a bitch to get around.
I recall something icky about Venus but can't for the life of me remember what.
CindyS: How can it feel like work? You don't work! silly rabbit.
Samantha: Do you think you will try one? Or do you just have no interest?
Kristie: We will have to find you another author than, although I have to say McCarthy's Promise series is my fave.

1. Yes - I have over 1300 ebooks
2. Definitely - A wide range of them but mostly romance or erotic romance.
3. There's a link list on the left side of my blog - realmsoftheraven.blogspot.com
4. Favorite publishers - Ellora's cave, liquid silver, Loose ID, Cerridwen Press, Samhain (new)
5. I troll the publisher sites usually weekly and see what's out there. Occasionally I hear of an author recommended by someone I know and will check them out. I often buy one that the blurb looks interesting on even if I don't know that author.

Shelby read does fantastic tortured heroes, and Katherine Allred is just stupendous. Her book The Sweet Gum Tree was one of my fave reads of 2005.
If you're gonna try Shelby Reed, I highly recommend, A Fine Work of Art, (younger man older woman story) The Fifth Favour (the hero is a highclass escort to die for) And Midnight Rose (tortured vamp)
She does really good work.
Triskelion site is a bitch so I mainly avoid it now.

And good about Triskelion, well not good you avoid it but good it isn't just me. I swear... they have a Dakota, O'Clare and Shiloh I would like to try but by the time I find them and I couldn't figure out a rating.
Then figured out it was Sister O? And couldn't figure out what that was... so I left.
Which is for the best I have like 5 reviews past my due date of Sunday right now.

I'm a little late with this but had company this week that kept me away from the computer. (Translated, expect me to be popping up everywhere today, including hopefully my OWN blog. Oye.)
Anyway to the questions.
1) Yep
2) I suppose. There are at least two or three e-authors I regularly check to see if they have something new out although I haven't had time lately to find anything new. Oh, and I started with Linnea Sinclair on ebooks and was one of the first to rave, incessantly I might add, about her online. (VBG)
3) Oh, let's see, over the years, I've bought, both directly and indirectly, from New Concepts, LTD Books, HardShell Word Factory & Awestruck Books. So far I've never found one at Ellora's Cave that's interested me enough to buy but I have checked out several there on occasion.
4) Definitely Linnea Sinclair is a favorite, but I've also very much enjoyed several books each from both Sharon K. Garner & Dee Lloyd, both of which use a couple of the above publishers.
5) Originally, I found them through my Gemstar eBook reader catalog, which has been discontinued. eBookwise has replaced it but I just haven't had time to start shopping there on a regular basis. Once I do, I'm sure I'll start finding books and authors again.
