I need to check to see if Dear Author did a post on ebookwise... prolly did But to keep you busy while I am away shopping, ;) see I am a such a giver. Is there an Ebookwise set up for dummies anywhere? Link me! You pro ebookwise people, any advice? Samhain has a feature where you can buy in the ebookwise format (and a great sale going on). But I am not sure if that is what I want to do, or if I should do html and convert so I can read on the puter or ebookwise. But the thought of converting something myself... eek! Labels: ebookwise |

Joy to the World
Le sigh... since I spent most of last week home sick, I still have to get some things for my mom. I WANT to stay home in bed and read. I WANT to finish one of the 20 blog posts I have started. Not that anyone is around to read them ;).But I shall be good, I shall go finish shopping. And even go over there for a bit. Then come home and blog and read *g*. Good news is I got a totally unexpected bonus at work. And I think I am staying in my apt for another year. So if everything works out like I want it too... I shall be buying a new computer very soon! Now the question is do I want a desktop or laptop? Any suggestions? Anything will be better than what I have. And really I only use my computer for the net, ebooks, blogging and more internet *g*. So I am not looking for a 2000 top of the line computer. I know I want something with a smartcard reader? I think that is what is called. To load my ebookwise (I don't know I am getting for xmas of course) hee. I want a CDR and a USP port in front. And I want the memory to be able to upgrade to at least 1Gig but 2 if possible. Right now I am looking to send around 300 to 600 hundred. And figure right after xmas is the best time to look. So processorwise... what would be good and in that range? Anyone know?Okay enough stalling... off to get ready to shop. Labels: ponderings |

Merry, Merry
Happy Holidays to all my friends, online peeps, author buds, frequent chatters, lurker writers, googlers, pRon seekers, and even those of you who are just waiting around for the cannon to fire. Thanks for the wonderful books, great times, recommendations, snarkage, glomming finds, stupidity, reviews, bad behavior, fun chats, flames, flares and for repeatedly showing how intelligent romance writers and readers can be. But most of all thanks to those of you that are always there. Many people don't understand the 'internet' and/or the friendships formed over newsgroups, message boards or fandom. They don't know how amazing the support can be or how grand the friendships are you find with a click of a mouse. Many of you mean more to me than I could ever tell you and I know I don't try to tell you often enough. So thank you for everything.... the laughs when I want to cry, the shoulder when it all gets to be too much, the pat on the back, shared sqqquueees and of course the kick ass book recs. The gift of friendship is one of the bestest you can ever find wrapped under your tree. It is a gift that keeps giving and will take getting kicked around without breaking. If we could package it and sell it, just think of all the books we could buy ;). I hope you and yours have a very merry holiday. loveseses, sybilLabels: Thanks |

Is it just the cough meds....
Or is this just awful? The funny thing is I hit on this page after looking into The Crossroads Cafe because the ever wonderful wendy said it rocked. So after reading the first few pages of the excerpt... going back to wendy's review to see how I screwed up the authors name... googling Deborah Smith... going back to wendy's site to see if she had fessed up to whatever crack she has been smoking... I decided to blog about it cuz horrid writing should be shared. THEN I noticed if I had just read the amazon reviews (who knew?!?) my answer would have been found in the first posted review from wendy's Deborah Smith: If you're a confused reader trying to find one of my novels such as the NYT bestselling A Place To Call Home or Sweet Hush, you're probably wondering when I began writing pseudo-sexual "Christian" novels with lurid titles. Well, I didn't. I've been publishing award-winning mainstream novels for nearly twenty years under my name, Deborah Smith, and this new "Deborah Smith" is someone else. Someone whose work I would dearly love to NOT see included when my book lists pop up. Since so far I haven't been able to convince Amazon.com to post ANY distinction between us, I hope my readers will complain to Amazon when they order "Sex Secrets of Pistol-Whipped Ministers" or whatever this stuff is, by mistake. All I have to say is that sucks. Poor Deborah Smith. Of course she should be happy because according to Amazon: What do customers ultimately buy after viewing this item? You can too if you like here or here. I am still a little up in the air about it. So do tell me if you have read it. Labels: Book Info, Books to Watch, women's fic |
