    more blog questions
    1. Is it better to have a blog archive every week or month?

    2. Any suggestions on my comment phrase? I am tired of book whores pimpin'. But can't think of anything that amuses me... might do duckies quackin.

    3. Can I delete pics off my computer after uploading to blogger? And it there a limit to how many I can upload? Like where the hell are these pics being saved? heeeee cuz I really really like..

    4. I made this. If I can catch maili, jay or cw to help me put up my header pic and change the colors. IS there any reason I would rather use this blog than the one I currently use? And if there is, how much harder is wordpress than blogger?

    5. Would it be easy to make it where my template lets me put info on the left and right of the blog post? Or would that take redoing the whole thing? Because I love my colors, font and pic - thank you maili ;).

    1. Moving it from the left to the right should be pretty easy.

Wordpress isn't necessarily harder than blogger its just really different. However, running wordpress from the site, you can only choose from the templates they make available. You cant use your own or make any changes, which for me significantly reduces the benefits of wordpress.

You can run wordpress from blogsome and use your own templates if you want, but I still haven't figured out how to do that yet. Mainly because the template I want to use is .php and blogsome only gives me choices in .html.

(I know the last paragraph probably didnt make any sense to you)

    2. I think you were actually asking about doing a two-sidebar blog (not switching it from left to right, correct?) and that would take redoing much of the code. But Maili has a two sidebar blog so she might be able to help.

I just have to laugh, because when I first asked for a two sidebar template when I had my very first blog made last spring, the designer had never done one before, everyone had one sidebar. Now, quite a few people have two. I'm a trendsetter, I am :D

As for using wordpress, unless it has a specific feature that you're dying to have, I'd stick with blogger. A lot of the features offered by wordpress are being written as "hacks" by Blogger users and can be input into your blog if you really want them (expandable post summaries and putting posts into categories are two examples).

Yes you can delete the pics off your blog. And no, there's no limit to uploading, as far as I know. I just uploaded close to 100 on Brianna's blog this weekend.

And I like weekly archives :)

    3. Jay: I understood no ;). Is there a way to delete that or do I just leave it there until wordpress makes it go away?

Angie: LOL you know I didn't even think of trying to catch you ONLINE to help with the summary thing. And I got that from you ;).

I want categories and was going to try techwhatever but have they done that yet? ohhhh then I could drive you mad showing me both!

cool about the pics, you might have noticed I likey... and so I have a crap load saved now.

    4. 1. Is it better to have a blog archive every week or month?

It depends on how oft you blog. If you blog daily, then monthly, otherwise weekly archives will take up a bit of space.

      2. Any suggestions on my comment phrase? I am tired of book whores pimpin'. But can't think of anything that amuses me... might do duckies quackin.

hopping duckies? dancing duckies? duckies pimpin'? duckies rockin' purple duckies quack?

      3. Can I delete pics off my computer after uploading to blogger? Yes.

And it there a limit to how many I can upload? No.

      4. I made this. If I can catch maili, jay or cw to help me put up my header pic and change the colors.

I don't know Wordpress very well, but I can give it a try. In old days I'd have said Wordpress, but blogger caught up a lot. Mind you, you did once say you'd like a feature that allows you to schedule your postings when these should go live. If you still want this, then it's Wordpress for you. Plus it has categories, which is what you'd kill for.

      5. Would it be easy to make it where my template lets me put info on the left and right of the blog post? Or would that take redoing the whole thing?

No, it's quite easy. Just write a set of codes to create new sidebar. Why are you looking at me like that for? ... *sighs dramatically* I'll do it for you.

: Because I love my colors, font and pic - thank you maili ;).

    5. lol I've been wanting the two sidebar thingies too. I hate how far down the page my books to be read and books read get.

hi Maili! When are you ever going to be on IM again?

By Blogger Nicole, at 2/27/2006 12:28:00 PM

    6. AIM was working fine earlier, but for some reason it's not working at the mo. It keeps having this 'microsoft debugger' dialog popping up, making AIM crash. Do you have this problem as well?

    7. Why are you looking at me like that for? ... *sighs dramatically* I'll do it for you.

LOVESESES you tons!!!!!!!! Hey I added the search thing by myself. Made you listen to me whine while doing it but I did it!

And it needs to say somewhere designed by THE maili.

Nic! Hands off I saw her first ;)

    8. I've been using trillian, so don't know anything about AIM bugs,

    9. You lost me with the first question so I now I need to know what the benefit of archiving is and how one goes about it on blogger. (Or does all this magically happen offstage?)

Pictures, I restored my computer to it's original settings and lost all the pictures on my hard drive but my blog pics are still there.

I liked Purple Duckies Quackin' from Maili. Other than that, I'm not creative.

    10. Fucking computer just blue screened again... now I am ok because the review I was typing I was saving as I went along just in case.

      But fuck!

Benefit to archiving? Uh don't know I would need to lookie. But if you do it by month and wanted to view all your posts for Dec - you would click Dec (whatever year)

If you arch by week. Then it looks like angies sidebar. I am guessing since she said she liked it ;). I haven't decided yet which I am doing but did put a monthly one back up.

LOL I like the Purple Duckies Quackin' - it would go with our jackets ;)
